Victor
My name is Victor, I'm 23 years old, and I'm the father of two children. My wife and I were born here in Puerto Morelos. I finished high school and started working at a young age. I've learned many things in the various jobs I've had. I also come from a family that does different kinds of work, so I've learned basic skills in masonry, bicycle mechanics, and LED television repair. I have experience in many jobs, and I've noticed that I excel in my technical skills, as Mr. Frans says. This year, I started working with him on his electrical recycling project. I learned how all kinds of appliances work, and we were able to rescue many from the landfill. I'm proud to work with Mr. Frans, and people always tell us how much they like what we do.
Frans
Thirty-six years ago, I first came to Mexico and Puerto Morelos, and I fell in love with it. And now, after traveling the world several times, I feel fortunate to live here so close to the sea, in the middle of the jungle. It is also there that I feel sadness for the damage I see, the rainforest being turned into an illegal dump. I turned that frustration into inspiration, and that's how the electrical recycling project was born. I decided to dedicate my retirement years to a worthy cause, and it's time to put into practice these techniques I learned as a young engineer in my country, the Netherlands.
